For a theory, let us agree it is efficient to black out the metro alone. But do you really think such sophisticated attackers wont have phones or other communication media and their leaders can see this from abroad or even outside India? :-(

As I said, I am not saying that it is like that. I am only saying that let us hope it is not like that.

I loved the way Rajdeep Sardesai handled it when he said, "At this moment, it is not fair giving updates on the NSG actions, let them do their work and that is the most important thing as of now". This, he said 3 days ago, and it took two days for ndtv to decide on delayed transmissions.

if it is the way you said, I am more than happy. Still, I am concerned about what I hear.

01:45 PM: Television black out in may parts of the metropolis.

http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/nov/26-update-terror-in-mumbai.htm

Like I said, the Government will do what it has to do when they know it can cause problem for them. Also it is being repeatedly said in all stations that whatever they state are rumors unless they get official statement confirming otherwise.

So end result is it creates a lot more confusion and panic in the minds of the terrorists. When you are 12 people strong and fed on 100 different rumors, you tend to panic.

When you play a game, as long as you know there is a chance to win, you play fiercely. The moment you lose hope, you give up so fast you get down to your knees even before you can start processing the information. This is what the news channels are doing now. Initially it was sensationalizing things to get the attention and everyone sat up and watched. The second stage is miscommunication and blackouts to confuse the onlookers who then tend to press panic buttons. It will be a few days later only when the actual turn of events actually come out.

@Chakky: Let your faith save us, the nation and the Mumbaikars.. Still, I can't agree with the idea of speaking out whatever they can, just because they have a mike in hand.

We should not be overly concerned with the media reporting systems. The government has a way to handle extra news from leaking out.

The News Reporters however competitive are also taught to curtail certain information. Gone are the old movie days where the reporters used to be the source of updates for terrorists to plan their next move.

The GOI has control over the entire bandwidth spectrum and they know where to cut the line...

Anyway God Bless those guys who put themselves on the line of fire knowing they have no control over their destiny from that moment, whether through leaks or due to their actions..

The entire action does though reek more of a similar pattern to what happened in Pakistan a couple of months back..
