RPG Retail- Foodworld Supermarkets

During the early 2000s, RPG  Group was the pioneer in organised retail in the areas of Food, Grocery and Hosuehold items. 

During his assignment with Foodworld, Shriram, Founder & CEO of Miles2Go Consulting was involved in improving the top-line of one of the most prestigious stores of the retail chain which was located in a prime residential locality in Chennai. 

During his stint, Shriram had doubled the sales of private label products of Foodworld by implementing various merchandising & visual merchandising techniques, coupled with a strong sales push by the frontend staff by offering innovative incentives. 

RPG Retail once upon a time ran the largest music retail store in Asia, selling cassettes, CDs and DVDs. The store, spread over 7,000 sq ft was located on the eponymous Park Street in Kolkata. 

As part of the assignment, Shriram was instrumental in achieving highest ever monthly sales of INR 96 lakhs in 2001, selling cassettes priced at INR 27 each on an average and Audio CDs priced at INR 299 each. 

During his stint, Shriram drove the sales of Hindi genre of songs, especially the CDs to discerning, high net worth consumers who already held a Music CD player at home. 

With experimental sales techniques deployed by the sales staff, the store was a beaming icon in India in the Specialty Retail Industry.
